Naana Jane calls for business readiness as NDC plans a 24-hour economy.

Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, John Dramani Mahama's running mate, has urged manufacturing companies and traders to prepare for a transformative "24-hour economy" that the NDC will implement in its next term.

Speaking at a campaign event at Denkyira Bibianiha in the Central Region, Professor Opoku-Agyemang emphasised that Mahama’s economic initiative is central to the NDC’s strategy to navigate the country out of its current economic challenges, which she attributed to mismanagement by the incumbent government.

“The 24-hour economy will not only stimulate business growth but will also provide significant benefits, including tax waivers, reduced tariffs, and increased productivity,” Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stated.

She outlined how this shift could reduce unemployment and enhance the financial stability of families in the region.

Addressing concerns raised by Nana Appiah Kubi, the chief of Denkyira Bibianiha, regarding escalating joblessness and poverty among the youth, the National Democratic Congress running mate expressed her commitment to reigniting hope and fostering an environment conducive to economic prosperity.

"The NDC will restore hope and rebuild the economy to meet the aspirations of all Ghanaians," she asserted.

She engaged with local traders during her visit and highlighted the government's responsibility to support small enterprises with accessible credit and the essential infrastructure necessary for growth. Professor Opoku-Agyemang pointed out that the previous NDC administrations completed major infrastructure projects, including roads, healthcare centres, and schools, significantly benefiting communities.

"We have done it before, and you can trust us to do it again for you," she said, urging the community to rally behind the NDC in the upcoming elections to continue advancing their developmental goals.

Echoing her sentiments, Nana Appiah Kubi pledged the support of the local chiefs and residents for the NDC, underlining their collective desire for economic development. He also urged the party to prioritise the rehabilitation of the health facility in the town when they assume power, emphasising the crucial need for enhanced healthcare services in the area.

As Professor Opoku-Agyemang continues her regional campaign tour, the NDC's proposed 24-hour economy stands at the forefront of the agenda, signalling a renewed commitment to addressing the pressing economic concerns facing many communities in Ghana.
